Utah WR Kaelin Clay drops ball at 1, Oregon returns for TD

Saturday night’s game between No. 17 Utah and No. 4 Oregon featured a blunder of DeSean Jackson and Leon Lett proportions.

Except this one may top them both.

Utah wide receiver Kaelin Clay hauled in what he thought was a 79-yard touchdown catch to give Utah a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter.

As Clay ran into the end zone he began his celebration prematurely, dropping it at the 1-yard line and allowing Oregon’s Joe Walker to scoop it up and take it 99 yards the other way for a touchdown, tying the score at 7.

“I know my teammates may not say it, or my coaches may not say it … but I take full responsibility for what just happened,” Clay told the Salt Lake Tribune.

The play very well could be the turning point in the game as Utah could have led 14-0 but now trail 24-10 at halftime.

When will these guys ever learn?
