Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey makes a catch against the Giants last season. Bailey was shot Tuesday and has non-life threatening injuries, according to reports.  

Suspended Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey was shot Tuesday in Miami, reports ProFootballTalk.com, citing a league source.

NFL.com is reporting that Bailey suffered a head injury that is not considered life threatening, but no more details were available.

The Rams are expected to make a statement shortly.

Bailey is serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Picked by St. Louis in the third round of the 2013 draft, Bailey has 59 receptions, 843 yards and two touchdowns in his career.

The Rams released a statment following the incident:

“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.”
