A dramatic air-rage incident saw the Mayor of London desperately trying to calm down a violent passenger who was “off his head.”

British politician Boris Johnson was reportedly on a 13-hour Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur back to London, England, when the flyer started to seriously freak out.

Johnson sat down alongside the man, who was being abusive to other travelers and the crew, and urged him to chill out, according to Get West London.

But when the lawmaker’s sweet-talking tactics failed to work, the 43-year-old was restrained.

He was arrested when the aircraft touched down at London’s Heathrow Airport at 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The man, who’s since been named as Aldershot resident David Owen Morris, was then taken into custody at a police station in west London.

Morris was charged with one count of assault by beating, one count of behaving in a threatening, abusive or insulting manner towards a member of the crew in an aircraft, and one count of being drunk in a plane.

He was released on bail, and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Dec. 18.

“The Mayor along with a number of other passengers and members of the cabin crew did make several attempts to calm the gentleman concerned but to no avail,” the Mayor’s office said in a statement.

Eileen Burbidge, a member of Johnson’s party on the flight, posted a picture to Twitter showing crews restraining the man.

She added that she was “impressed” with the crew’s handling of the terrifying situation and claimed there was a “head butt incident.”

Johnson was returning from a trade mission tour of the Far East.
