New to the scene…

Nightlife guru Ravi Derossi is transforming the former Gin Palace space in the East Village into Mother of Pearl , a Polynesian tiki bar opening July 6. Executive Chef Andrew D’Ambrosi, formerly of Bergen Hill, puts a playful spin on Spam and Eggs with uni and Japanese fixins like nihaizu, furikake seasoning and shiso. Summer sips include the Imperial Bulldog ($ 18), a mix of aquavit, cachaca, lime, pineapple, raspberry and herb bitters.

The Financial District is about to get saucy. Parm Battery Park City will make its mozarella-filled debut inside Brookfield Place Monday. The casual Italian-American eatery is the fourth outpost by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick. Red sauce signatures include chicken parm and meatball heroes, along with calamari and a towering tricolored ice cream cake.

Expect lardo-poached Maine lobster with squid-ink gnocchi, hen-of-the-woods tarte flambée topped with Comté cheese, chives, nutmeg and onion, along with a 10-day cured beef tenderloin.

Houseman started as a pop-up on the North Fork of Long Island. Now it’s bringing no-fuss fare to Soho. The family-style menu by chefs Ned Baldwin , formerly of Prune, and Adam Baumgart includes fried fava beans ($ 5), pickled bluefish ($ 12) littleneck clams and butter beans ($ 16) Mutton sausage with caper mayonnaise ($ 25).
