Caitlyn Jenner reaches first settlement following car crash

Caitlyn Jenner is one step closer to putting a fatal car crash behind her.

The reality star reached a settlement on Monday with Jessica Steindorff, who was driving one of the four cars involved in the tragic Pacific Coast Highway accident back in February that left one woman dead, TMZ is reporting.

Steindorff, a Hollywood agent who represents Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, sued Jenner in June after she claimed the accident caused her serious medical injuries and lost wages.

Caitlyn Jenner has reached a settlement with one of the people suing her following the February car crash.

It’s unknown how much compensation Steindorff received in the settlement, which was reportedly paid entirely by Jenner’s insurance company.

But Jenner is hardly out of the woods yet, as she still faces two other lawsuits from others affected by the crash — including relatives of the woman who died, Kim Howe.

In the accident, the 66-year-old Jenner, who still identified as Bruce Jenner at the time, rear-ended Howe’s Lexus sedan and pushed it into oncoming traffic, where she was fatally hit by a Hummer SUV filled with five people.

Howe’s stepchildren filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Jenner in May, claiming the reality star was “careless and negligent” when she hit the woman’s car and propelled her onto the other side of the highway.

In August, however, the occupants of the Hummer sued Howe’s estate for $ 18.5 million, claiming she was to blame for the crash, according to TMZ.

Multiple cars were involved in the accident, which killed one person.

Earlier this month, the Hummer’s driver, Peter Wolf-Milesi, and his family sued Jenner as well, again citing negligence.

Prosecutors decided in October that they wouldn’t hit Jenner with any charges for her role in the incident.

“We are heartened the district attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanor charge would be inappropriate,” her attorney Blair Berk said after the ruling. “A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter.”

Steindorff, who was driving a Prius at the time of the crash, condemned Jenner in June after she received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPYs.

“I find it difficult to understand how the culture we live in can honor a person who is responsible for taking a life and injuring several others with both an award and a reality show,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
